Gaza eSims Donation

10% of profits from REWIRE COLLECTION will go to purchasing eSims for our people in Gaza. This provides families with internet and reception for 30 days, as a way to support communication and connectivity under challenging circumstances this Christmas.
Why does Gaza need eSims?
The ongoing conflict in Gaza has severely disrupted the region’s infrastructure, with over 80% of civilian facilities, including telecommunications and cell phone towers, intentionally destroyed. As a result, the population is facing a complete communication blackout, leaving families and individuals unable to connect during critical moments. With many people displaced and in immediate danger, staying in touch with loved ones is more important than ever. eSIMs provide a vital solution, enabling restored communication and offering a lifeline in this time of crisis.
What are eSims?
Unlike traditional SIM cards, which need to be inserted into a device, they can be activated within any phone, allowing for easier and more flexible management and, they can be connected to international mobile networks.
There are several eSIM providers we work with that can help restore connectivity in Gaza by giving access to neighboring international networks from Egypt and Israel. We use services like Nomad, Simly, Truly, and Holafly.
Every time a necklace is purchased, 10% of the purchase amount will be added to my eSims funds, where I myself will make the purchase and send a screenshot of the QR code to Mirna Elhewabi from connecting-humanity.org. From there her and her team will directly send screenshots of QR codes to Gazans. They can then use the QR code to activate a data plan, re-establishing communication and providing crucial access to the outside world.
Who are they sent to?
eSIMs are sent to people in need, including medical workers, aid workers, journalists, and the general population. There's also a media blackout, with Israel blocking international journalists from entering. At the same time, Palestinian journalists are being intentionally targeted, leading to the highest rate of journalist deaths.
They have received death threats and been targeted for trying to report what’s happening on the ground. eSIMs help them record and share these events in real time with each other and the outside world.
Who started the operation?
Mirna Elhelbawi is the Egyptian brains behind the operation.

Her and her team work around the clock to provide support, send eSIMs, and give support contact lists. They have so far provided over 50,000 eSims to Gazans since the beginning of the war.

I am very excited for us to contribute to this number together! I will be updating this page with the data collected from the donations when the entire REWIRE COLLECTION is sold out.
