A Usekh is an ancient Egyptian necklace, often made of beads or other materials, that was traditionally worn by both men and women. It is sometimes referred to as a collar necklace or pectoral, characterized by its wide, flat, and semi-circular shape, and was typically made from precious metals like gold or other materials such as faience, glass, or semi-precious stones.
The Usekh was not only a piece of jewelry but also had symbolic and spiritual significance. In ancient Egyptian culture, it was believed to provide protection and was often worn by the elite or those of high status, such as pharaohs, nobles, and priests. These necklaces could also serve as a representation of divine power or were thought to act as a shield against evil forces.
